Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to your data when you visit dewlet.app and join the Dewlet waitlist.
Who we are
Dewlet is an iPhone app in the making. It is made by Diogo Foreid, an individual developer based in Portugal, who decides how your data is used (the data controller). In this notice, “we” means Diogo Foreid. You can reach us at hello@dewlet.app.
What we collect
- When you join the waitlist: your email address, your consent to our emails (the exact wording you agreed to, and when), and which of our links brought you here, for example our Instagram profile.
- If you answer the follow-up questions: how many plants you have, which plant app you use, whether you would share your plants with someone at home, and whether you reserved a copy. A reservation costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
- When you visit: Cloudflare counts page visits for us without cookies and without identifying you. To deliver the page and protect it from attacks, Cloudflare also processes your IP address.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To email you about Dewlet’s beta and launch, and to use your answers to decide whether and how to build Dewlet. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.
- To count visits and keep the site running and secure. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the site and knowing which channels bring visitors (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
We don’t sell your data, share it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you.
Who handles it for us
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts this site, counts visits and forwards emails sent to hello@dewlet.app.
- Web3Forms, run by Web3Creative in India, receives the waitlist form and emails it to us. It hosts and stores submissions with Amazon Web Services, and checks each submission for spam with CleanTalk and Akismet, which receive your IP address and email address.
- Our email provider stores the emails we receive.
Transfers outside the EU
Web3Forms operates from India and uses servers in the United States; its data processing agreement covers these transfers with the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, and its data processing addendum also includes the Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Until you unsubscribe, until 6 months after Dewlet launches, or until we stop the project, whichever comes first. Then we delete it and ask Web3Forms to delete its copy. Web3Forms otherwise deletes submissions after at most three years.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying to any of our emails or writing to hello@dewlet.app. We reply within one month.
If you think we have mishandled your data, you can complain to Portugal’s data protection authority, the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD), at www.cnpd.pt.
Do you have to give us your data?
No. We need your email only if you want to join the waitlist, and the follow-up questions are optional.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
Changes
If we change this notice, we will publish the new version here with a new version number and date.
